Created during the company’s 2018 “Made in Wickenburg” artist residency,La Danse is performed to an original musical composition by John Levis and poetry by Karl Mullen. The work combines tender, joyful, passionate and humorous interpretations of Matisse’s three versions of his expressionist painting.
Celebrating 30 years of innovative and engaging performance, the international dance ensemble Koresh Dance Company was founded in 1991 by Israeli-born Choreographer and Artistic Director Ronen Koresh. Presenting its audiences with an exciting and emotional blend of ballet, modern dance and jazz, Koresh’s style of choreography is both eloquent and explosive. Based in Philadelphia, this contemporary company has developed a vast repertoire of over 40 works that range from passionate and expressive to intimate and restrained. koreshdance.org
Made in Wickenburg Artist Residency
Koresh Dance Company will be in residence October 11 – 23, 2022. While in Wickenburg, the company will create a new dance that will tour North America.

You are invited to watch the choreographer work with the company to create a new dance. Attend FREE Behind the Scenes events on October 13 & 18 from 2:30 – 5 PM at the Webb Center. Get an intimate look at their creative process and see this new dance come to life.
Conversation with the Artist
Members of the Encore Society at the Artist’s Level or higher are invited to a Conversation with the Artist event on Thursday, October 20 at 6 PM at the Webb Center.
Join the Webb Center’s Chief Executive Officer, Cathy Weiss, for a conversation with Artistic Director and Choreographer Roni Koresh and company members. An open dialogue explores their training, creative process, collaborative works, and selection for their public performance. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres included. Space is limited; contact the Webb Center Box Office for reservations.
