“Yarnell Rising” concert at Webb Center

yhrg_logo           Yarnell Rising- Voices from the Ashes, a concert featuring local and nationwide talent, will be held at the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.  It is a fundraising concert to benefit the rebuilding of Yarnell and to honor the 19 plus 1 Granite Mountain Hotshots.

The concert is being organized by the Yarnell Hill Recovery Group, an association of local volunteers working to rebuild Yarnell. They are recognized as the official recovery group for the the Yarnell Hill Fire.

“The Yarnell Hill Recovery Group serves as the steering committee for Yarnell Rising.” stated Kaye Huckelberry, a Congress resident who volunteered to help the Yarnell community. “All of the funding will go directly to people who need housing. Right now we are building three houses and four manufactured homes.”

The Recovery Group has collected the families that have lost their home and created an anonymous draw; as money is accumulated, a family’s name is pulled to receive a home. Funding will first benefit the un-insured and under-insured; remaining monies will be distributed as needed in the Yarnell community.

Anyone who would like to assist the Yarnell Hill Recovery Group or has questions about the funding is welcome to contact Kaye Huckelberry at 928-499-4556.

Yarnell Rising – Voices from the Ashes begins at 7:30 pm and will combine music, artwork and photos. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for 18 and under. To order tickets, visit the Webb Center Box Office on the second floor of Meridian Bank or call 928-684-6624.

The Yarnell Hill Recovery Group and the Yarnell Presbyterian Community Church are so excited to have Charles Edwin Taylor flying in to perform in “Voices From the Ashes!” His wonderful baritone voice is a treat to hear! Plus, our community is so very proud of Denise Roggio, our neighbor who has written and recorded songs to honor the 20 Granite Hot Shots and to inspire the Yarnell community to rise out of the ashes!

This is going to be a great event. Denise Roggio will be performing her songs “Blazing Honor” & “Yarnell Rising” both of which are on her newly released album “Ash ‘n Blues” which contains 7 original songs. http://deniseroggio.com/ash-n-blues/
