Artists from the Stephen Petronio Company are now living, working and performing in Wickenburg, as part of the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Art’s artist residency program. Based in New York City, the contemporary dance company will reside at the Flying E Guest Ranch for two weeks while Artistic Director Stephen Petronio develops a new full-length contemporary piece.

While in Wickenburg, the Stephen Petronio Company will be offering several activities that are available to the general public:

  • The company will hold FREE open rehearsals Wednesday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 30, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Warehouse Studio, Benner-Nawman, 3450 Sabin Brown Road, Wickenburg. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend any time during those rehearsal periods to get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and witness Petronio’s unique approach to choreography. Look for the Webb Center’s “Special Event” signs for directions to the Warehouse Studio.
    • The public is also invited to attend a “Conversation with the Artist” program with Stephen Petronio at Los Caballeros Golf Club on Thursday, October 25. The casual dialogue, moderated by Executive Director Cathy Weiss, will include Petronio’s training and background. The event will begin at 6:00 pm; tickets are $25 and include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Contact the Webb Center Box Office for reservations.
  • The residency will conclude Friday, November 2 at 7:30 pm with a full evening of dance at the Webb Center. The performance will feature the world premiere of the new piece the company learned while in Wickenburg, and other dances from their repertoire. Tickets are FREE, but need to be reserved through the Box Office at (928) 684-6624.
