At 13, Judy made her public debut performing Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos but it was the music of such artists as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as the traditional songs of the folk revival, that sparked Judy’s love of lyrics. She soon moved away from the classical piano and began her lifelong love with the guitar.
Best seen as a live performance, Judy Collins gracefully takes the stage to offer a disarmingly honest look at her life and career. Now 74, Collins is still writing, performing, and nurturing fresh talent.
Opening for Judy Collins, is singer/songwriter Ari Hest.
Hest’s lyrics seamlessly complement his grainy voice and quiet confidence to create a dark yet soulful sound.
Owner of one of the richest voices in contemporary music today, Hest expertly weaves together diverse influences in his guitar-driven original songs. His lastest album The Fire Plays fuses the sounds of 1970's pop era music similar to Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor.
